Amazon has launched its Appstore in the UK for Google Android smartphone and tablet apps and we'll show you how to download and install it.
The Amazon Appstore isn't simply on the Google Play Store since it is a rival app store itself. Below is a step by step guide on how get it. See also: Best Android Apps
The Appstore features personalised recommendations, customer reviews and '1-Click' payments. There will also be a "Free App of the Day".
Step 1
To start with you will need to make sure your Android smartphone or tablet will allow installation of non-market applications. To do this navigate to the security section of the settings menu and tick 'Unknown sources'.

Step 2
Head to Amazon and enter your mobile phone number or email address. Amazon will then send you a message with a link to download the Appstore.
Alternatively you can enter www.amazon.co.uk/appstore-web into your device's browser. A download will automatically begin after you click the link.
Step 3
Once the download is complete, click the notification in the notifications bar to install the Amazon Appstore.

Step 4
Now the Amazon Appstore is installed you can sign in with your Amazon account to start browsing and downloading apps.
