The US version of Netflix is far superior to the UK version; it has 10,219 movies/shows compared to the UK's puny 3,507 movies/shows. Needless to say, there are a lot of people who want to use their existing Netflix accounts to access content that is available to users from the other side of the pond. The first thing you need to know is that your Netflix account works with your IP address. What this means is that Netflix uses your IP address to lookup where you are trying to access the service from and then it provides you with content available in your region. Therefor all you need to do is access Netflix from a VPN that is based in the US and you will be presented with all the content that is available to American users. Using this method will breech your Netflix usage terms and conditions, and in the unlikely event Netflix discovers that you have been doing this you may receive an account warning or suspension.
Note: for the purposes of this tutorial we are using Hotspot Shield VPN as it's free, but any VPN that lets you manually set you IP address as somewhere in the US will work. How to watch US Netflix on an Android smartphone or Tablet
Step one:
Download the Hotspot Shield VPN an install in on your Android smartphone or Tablet.
Step two:
Run Hotspot Shield VPN app and select the Protect my Connection button. The free version of this app will automatically set your IP to an US address.
Step Two:
Close the Hotspot Shield VPN app – it will still be running in the background – and open Netflix. You will now be accessing Netflix as if you were in America. Simply search for the US Netflix program you want to watch.
Step Three:
Watch US Netflix content.
